Regular Service delivery and monitoring of UNICEF
With the mission of strengthening of service delivery of UNICEF projects they tied up with CARDS to work for in a few districts of the state as their Implementation agency. The programme focused on providing services like vitamin A supplementation, Deworming, Immunization, etc. with the guidelines of UNICEF. CARDS was the Support Agency for Strengthening Vitamin A Supplementation & Deworming during Shishu Sanrakshan Maah and Second Opportunity Measles in Chhattisgarh with the support of UNICEF in 7 districts of C.G. and for Session Site Monitoring of Vitamin A and Albendezole supplementation during routine immunization under VHND session with the support of UNICEF in 7 districts of C.G. Besides this, CARDS also did the monitoring of VHND i.e. Village health and nutrition day program.
CARDS has been able to reach the objectives of sensitization of ICDS & PRI functionaries, Strengthening of the convergence between ICDS, PRI and HFW to improve service delivery coverage during the SSM and created awareness on importance of education with the participation of community and Panchayat resulting in fewer dropouts from schools.
Furthermore CARDS has been putting their efforts on Nawajatan program sample validation of the assessment in 11 district these are Raipur, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Balrampur, Surajpur, Sarguja, Jaspur, Koriya, Korba at Chhattisgarh state to achieve objective of to address the problem of malnutrition in Chhattisgarh, especially among the underprivileged children of the society. Chhattisgarh state (with as high as nearly 50% population of malnourished children) has developed a multi-pronged mandate 'Nava Jatan' – a result oriented scheme of community based management of malnourished children. A scheme that encourages & rewards activities of redressing Child Malnutrition, in every nook and corner of the state.
