    Barsan singh is basically a Tribal from origin so the pre- training status of this artisans were very poor & as normal government schemes were also very far from these peoples so he was not having any works and his source of income was also nil as a result of this, as these artisans were illiterate don’t have the awareness so this was the main factor which makes them backward in all sectors.
  • Source of income :
    After the training programme conducted under skill development programme the status of artisans were become good as compare to their past life & their living status also increased which result in increased source of income. In these training artisans learned to make a lot of things related to Bamboo. There is a large demand in the market of bamboo items in nearby Bilaspur area so their source of income increased as they completed this training & he also learned to make the bamboo items which helps in selling the finished items in nearby villages and among relatives.
  • Post development status:
    The status of the artisans after completion of skill development programme has become good and their source of living has increased as a result of this programme. They are now having an added source of income after this programme because now they are selling their finished products in local markets as well as nearby areas of Bilaspur and orders put up by forest department when they are in need of it. These changes have drastically come after they got training and with the help of this programme they learned a lot of things in their life. In Nabards skill development programme Barsan singh has got training of making Bamboo materials and his skills also increased through this programme. As in all business a person needs investment so in this programme also the main source of investment of Barsan singh is his own money and he has not taken any sort of loan from bank for this work until now. The approximate income which he is getting from making this bamboo items in a month is Rs. 1000/-. There is no such increase of assets as this programme started last year itself. The main markets now he is having are nearby areas of Bilaspur and also nearby villages which are next to them & among his relatives who are in need of it. There is full support & assistance from government that is from forest department to this artisan. These are some of the achievements which this artisan has received under this programme.
